What do you get when you blend a business conference with a summer festival atmosphere? The Budapest Business Fest: a unique event where serious innovation meets an informal atmosphere with food trucks, music, networking, and bold business ideas - all in one place.
But we didn’t just show up with stickers and gummies. We brought something a little different: a wall of problems. We came with a mission: to spotlight the everyday issues teams face at work and start breaking them down.
Let’s face it, everyone has that one thing (or several) that makes their workday harder than it should be. So, we asked:
What’s blocking your team’s performance?
And then… we built a wall out of it. Literally.
Anyone could “brick” on our catworkx Wall of Work Performance Blockers by presenting a real, everyday business issue. Participants could take a shot (or several) at the wall with our iconic rocketballs. The more blocks they knocked down, the more swag they earned. But the real prize? A chance to open up the conversation about what’s broken at work and how to fix it.
“Where’s the latest version of that report again?”
When information is scattered across emails, spreadsheets, and disconnected tools, teams lose time, duplicate work, and make bad decisions. According to Atlassian, employees spend up to 20% of their time just searching for information – that’s an entire day every week gone.
“We’re all working... just not together.”
Misaligned teams cause delays, missed opportunities, and frustration. In hybrid or remote setups, the impact is even worse. Lack of visibility and poor collaboration can cost companies millions in lost productivity each year.
“We’re busy – but is it actually working?”
If teams are overworked but underutilized, budgets spiral. Without clear insights into who is doing what (and why), organizations often overspend. Improved resource planning can reduce operational costs by up to 25%.
“We’d love to pivot... if only we could.”
In today’s market, agility is survival. Teams stuck with rigid processes can’t respond quickly to change, whether it's customer needs, competitor moves, or regulatory shifts.
“We had a deadline. Past tense.”
Projects without clear visibility, accountability, or prioritization often drift off course. Missed deadlines, unclear task ownership, and scope creep all stem from poor project management practices.
“It’s somewhere in the filing cabinet. Maybe.”
Paper workflows don’t just slow down processes – they pose security, compliance, and accessibility risks. In 2025, when your team still has to dig through PDFs or scan folders for critical info, you’re falling behind.
Manual and time-consuming processes hinder efficiency
Challenges in compliance with regulations
Slow innovation and product development
Cybersecurity risks and inadequate data protection measures
Difficulties in automating and integrating business processes
HR process inefficiencies and workforce management problems
Slow information flow and internal communication within the organization
Poor strategic decision-making due to incomplete or outdated data
At catworkx, this isn't just a game; they’re real challenges we help our customers overcome every day. Not with rocketballs, but with tailored Atlassian solutions:
Budapest Business Fest 2025 was our first major event as catworkx Hungary, since the EverIT–catworkx merger.
Events like this remind us that Business doesn’t have to be boring. Work can (and should!) be more playful, creative, and human. We loved talking to everyone who came by, shared their blockers, and smashed the wall with us. 🎉
And what we saw was encouraging:
People are hungry for better ways to work
Playfulness can lead to powerful conversations
When you make room for interaction, you learn more than from any pitch
People want to talk about what’s broken at work, and they’re willing to fix it.
If you missed us at the booth, don’t worry – we’re just a message away.
Let’s talk about your wall – and how to bring it down.
