We've just wrapped up an incredible experience at Atlassian Team '24: four days filled with hands-on sessions that empowered us to revolutionize our workflow, networking opportunities that ignited our passion for collaboration, and inspiring keynotes. We engaged in motivating conversations, learned new insights about cutting-edge methodologies, and discovered the latest updates on the Atlassian products, fueling our drive for innovation and teamwork.
If you missed out on attending, we got you covered! Delve into our own very special standout moments from Team '24 with us and learn how Atlassian's new advancements will redefine your teams' collaboration, innovation, and success.
The catworkx crew started coming to bright Las Vegas on the weekend before Team '24, jetting in from Europe (Cologne, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Stuttgart, Zurich) and the US (Colorado, Nebraska, Florida, Southern California). We met for dinner at different partner events and got in the best Vegas mood.
To energize ourselves and start off the week with the right team spirit, the catworkx team met for breakfast at Hash House A Go Go at The LINQ Hotel and discussed our plans for an exciting week to come while tasting hearty breakfast recipes.
Then, we headed to Treasure Island, where Seibert Media hosted again their Partner Info Session, which catworkx sponsored. The event featured seven informative talks on the latest ecosystem news, with nine partners providing sponsorship. Attendees can anticipate six hours of engaging discussions, networking opportunities, raffles, and fun activities. Our very own Bill Wood (catworkx US) participated in the session Failures and Lessons from the Atlassian Ecosystem and discussed some of the biggest mistakes that can occur using Atlassian tooling, and gave useful advice to recover and avoid them.
After finishing off the Partner Info Session with drinks, nibbles, and networking, we went to the Venetian Expo to pick up our badges, assist with the setting up of our show booth, and make sure that everything went smoothly. In the early evening, we headed to the 2024 Tempo Partner Awards ceremony at Emmitt's Vegas. We were very excited to collect the award Partner of the Year: Customer Champion from Tempo, our partner and Top Atlassian Vendor, and have it collected by our team members Marcelle Almeida and Sabrina Glawion. To cap off an exciting day, our team reunited for a jovial dinner on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas.
On Tuesday, the morning dawned with a burst of enthusiasm at the Partner Accelerate event, where Kevin Egan (Chief Sales Offices), Keran McKenzie (Head of Ecosystem), and Ko Mistry (Global Head of Channels and Alliances) presented an array of exciting information and updates. Among the announcements that sparked enthusiasm was the unveiling of the new Partner Directory, which allows partners to exhibit their portfolios with enriched marketing resources.
Amidst this bustling environment, we prepared to welcome our visitors with open arms and engage in fruitful conversations when the Expo Hall opened at 3 p.m. Our booth was all about five main topics: SAP, ITSM, ESM, Work Management, and AI. Under the motto Skyrocket Your Enterprise Integration, we immersed ourselves in dynamic conversations spanning High-Speed ITSM, Collaboration, Enterprise Agility, and DevOps, delving into the forefront of these domains.
At the kick-off keynote Unleashing the potential of every team with AI, co-founder Mike Cannon-Brookes, along with AI expert at Stanford University Dr. Fei-Fei Li and editor-in-chief of The Economist Zanny Minton Beddoes, led an engaging panel discussion on AI. The panel thematized ways to accelerate the adoption of AI to tackle global challenges and promote accelerated business growth, underscoring the significance of AI as a dominant theme at this year's conference.
Bill Wood's breakout session, Enabling teams with Atlassian Intelligence, was a full-house success. Introducing the audience to generative AI and Atlassian Intelligence, Bill offered the audience a roadmap consisting of four clear steps.
The Founders' Keynote, held at day break on the second day of Team '24, was packed with significant updates.
Among the many other exciting announcements, we were amazed to learn from co-founder and co-CEO Mike Cannon-Brookes that 150,000 users are now supported by the cloud, a 300% growth in just one year, and that over 1000 features were shipped to customers within the last 12 months. Mike's catchphrase, "Unleash the potential of every team in this building", metaphorically implies the power of teamwork and encapsulates the shared vision driving remarkable achievements.
When Atlassian President Anu Bharadwaj stepped on the stage, her vibrant energy set the tone, beginning with the motto: "Fostering shared goals, shared knowledge, and shared progress". She announced that Jira Software and Jira Work Management will merge into a unified offering tailored for both software and business teams. This strategic integration aims to streamline project management, foster collaboration, and boost productivity. Consequently, Jira Work Management will no longer be available as a standalone product. The new Jira introduces a host of features aimed at improving flexibility, usability, and organizational visibility. These enhancements aim to facilitate effective collaboration and alignment on shared objectives. Additionally, Atlassian's collaborative workspace, Confluence, continues to evolve in response to the dynamic requirements of contemporary teams with the addition of databases and whiteboards, and the improvements of the search functionality using AI. Finally, the integration of Loom into the Atlassian platform was presented as a game-changing addition that will revolutionize collaboration.
Co-founder and co-CEO Scott Farquhar kicked off his portion of the keynote with massive news for all customers. Atlassian University, a program dedicated to empowering users and unleashing their team’s potential, is now completely free. By removing the payment barrier, millions of users and community members can now boost their productivity and collaboration.
Jira Product Discovery premium edition gives even more visibility, full control, and speed to 7000 customers and over three million ideas within a year. Atlassian plans to improve its Compass monitoring capabilities by acquiring Optic, which was announced shortly before Team '24. This development aligns with the focus on incident response in Jira Service Management, where integration with Compass enables monitoring and action on urgent issues, including auto-resolution via the Automation platform. Improvements in Virtual Agents include the ability to manually generate responses based on human prompts and AI-generated suggestions for relevant queues. Moreover, Jira Service Management introduces Instant Service Desks, streamlining setup with pre-populated requests. The Atlassian Platform consolidates the management of Trello and Bitbucket into Atlassian Guard, offering enhanced features and security options. Additionally, the Teamwork Graph introduces the Semantic Index, enabling context-specific insights, while Automation evolves with AI-powered rule building and recommendations. Furthering this evolution, Atlassian Analytics integrates with external BI tools and utilizes Atlassian Intelligence to interpret data and generate insights. Rovo, a new feature within Atlassian Intelligence, empowers users to create AI-powered agents trained on various data sources and facilitates context-specific interactions and task automation across platforms.
In the afternoon, Mark Eskandar (Director of Product Management at Appfire), Rainer Molocea (Head of Atlassian Experts catworkx Switzerland), and Rainier Klopper (Workflow Manager and Atlassian Administrator at Rohde & Schwarz GmbH & Co) presented their Breakout Session Ready for anything: Knowledge Management at Rohde & Schwarz. The session emphasized the importance of audit readiness for organizations and highlighted the need for resources, discipline, and team alignment to achieve proactive compliance. Mark, Rainer, and Rainier discussed the growing risk of outdated or inaccurate documents as organizations expand, which could result in fines, lawsuits, and reputation damage. Rainier of Rohde & Schwarz showcased their approach to maintaining audit readiness by utilizing Confluence as a central hub for compliance documentation, simplifying updates, enforcing governance, and leveraging reporting capabilities. He also shared insights into their successful audit readiness journey, emphasizing the integration of Confluence with third-party knowledge management apps.
Another highlight of the second day at Team was Lukas Riechwald's (Atlassian Expert at catworkx Germany) presentation Timelog tango: Tempo Software and SAP united by catworkx at our partner's Tempo Booth.
We wrapped up a fruitful day with a very tasty and pleasant dinner at the HaSalon at the Venetian Resort with our Partner, HYCU.
On the last day of Team '24, we tied up loose ends and celebrated the final day with an epic Bash party.
What a perfect way to kick off the end of Team '24 with a keynote from Ted Lasso superstars Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso) and Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard): Impossible Alone: A conversation with the co-creators of Ted Lasso. Who could be more fitting than coach Ted Lasso himself to deliver a talk on the importance of teamwork? Jason Sudeikis, discussing the Ted Lasso way of resilience, kindness, and curiosity over judgment, shared insights on fostering a positive team culture. Reflecting on his character's wisdom, Coach Beard humorously remarked, "I've been to Vegas many times. One night is good, two nights is perfect, three is too many".
All visitors, including customers, partners, and the Atlassian team, gathered on Thursday night at the Bash party in Wynn XS, and we had an unforgettable experience. The pulsating beats of Afrojack had us dancing joyously beneath the venue's dazzling lights, matching the party's theme of neon lights. Adding to the excitement, Mike and Scott made a stylish entrance, donning vibrant neon outfits as they joined the DJ booth.
As some of us prepared to leave Sin City, other team members extended their trip to visit the beautiful Grand Canyon and surrounding cities in the neighboring states of Arizona and California.
We left Las Vegas feeling energized, motivated, and inspired to continue our work within the Atlassian ecosystem with renewed passion and purpose!
