Arrival in Las Vegas and Team Building

The catworkx crew started coming to bright Las Vegas on the weekend before Team '24, jetting in from Europe (Cologne, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Stuttgart, Zurich) and the US (Colorado, Nebraska, Florida, Southern California). We met for dinner at different partner events and got in the best Vegas mood.

Starting Off: Seibert’s Partner Info Session and Booth Set-up

To energize ourselves and start off the week with the right team spirit, the catworkx team met for breakfast at Hash House A Go Go at The LINQ Hotel and discussed our plans for an exciting week to come while tasting hearty breakfast recipes.

Then, we headed to Treasure Island, where Seibert Media hosted again their Partner Info Session, which catworkx sponsored. The event featured seven informative talks on the latest ecosystem news, with nine partners providing sponsorship. Attendees can anticipate six hours of engaging discussions, networking opportunities, raffles, and fun activities. Our very own Bill Wood (catworkx US) participated in the session Failures and Lessons from the Atlassian Ecosystem and discussed some of the biggest mistakes that can occur using Atlassian tooling, and gave useful advice to recover and avoid them.

Kicking off an exciting week

After finishing off the Partner Info Session with drinks, nibbles, and networking, we went to the Venetian Expo to pick up our badges, assist with the setting up of our show booth, and make sure that everything went smoothly. In the early evening, we headed to the 2024 Tempo Partner Awards ceremony at Emmitt's Vegas. We were very excited to collect the award Partner of the Year: Customer Champion from Tempo, our partner and Top Atlassian Vendor, and have it collected by our team members Marcelle Almeida and Sabrina Glawion. To cap off an exciting day, our team reunited for a jovial dinner on Fremont Street in downtown Las Vegas.

Things Are Getting Real: Day One at Atlassian Team ‘24 Has Officially Started

On Tuesday, the morning dawned with a burst of enthusiasm at the Partner Accelerate event, where Kevin Egan (Chief Sales Offices), Keran McKenzie (Head of Ecosystem), and Ko Mistry (Global Head of Channels and Alliances) presented an array of exciting information and updates. Among the announcements that sparked enthusiasm was the unveiling of the new Partner Directory, which allows partners to exhibit their portfolios with enriched marketing resources.

Amidst this bustling environment, we prepared to welcome our visitors with open arms and engage in fruitful conversations when the Expo Hall opened at 3 p.m. Our booth was all about five main topics: SAP, ITSM, ESM, Work Management, and AI. Under the motto Skyrocket Your Enterprise Integration, we immersed ourselves in dynamic conversations spanning High-Speed ITSM, Collaboration, Enterprise Agility, and DevOps, delving into the forefront of these domains.

At the kick-off keynote Unleashing the potential of every team with AI, co-founder Mike Cannon-Brookes, along with AI expert at Stanford University Dr. Fei-Fei Li and editor-in-chief of The Economist Zanny Minton Beddoes, led an engaging panel discussion on AI. The panel thematized ways to accelerate the adoption of AI to tackle global challenges and promote accelerated business growth, underscoring the significance of AI as a dominant theme at this year's conference.

  • Firstly, he emphasized the importance of readiness within organizations, prompting reflection on whether they are adequately prepared to elevate their insights to the next level.
  • Next, he highlighted the timely nature of seizing opportunities, stressing the advantages of early adoption with the simple adage: Early adoption does have its benefits.
  • Addressing concerns around trust, Wood reassured attendees by spotlighting OpenAI's "Zero Data Retention" policy, underscoring its alignment with GDPR regulations and ensuring compliance for European organizations.
  • Lastly, he urged vigilance during the implementation phase, whether it involves Slack, Jira, or the Confluence editor. He advised attendees to meticulously review their content before finalizing it, thus ensuring a seamless experience.

Day Two Insights Unveiled

The Founders' Keynote, held at day break on the second day of Team '24, was packed with significant updates.

Among the many other exciting announcements, we were amazed to learn from co-founder and co-CEO Mike Cannon-Brookes that 150,000 users are now supported by the cloud, a 300% growth in just one year, and that over 1000 features were shipped to customers within the last 12 months. Mike's catchphrase, "Unleash the potential of every team in this building", metaphorically implies the power of teamwork and encapsulates the shared vision driving remarkable achievements.

Third Day's a Charm and an Epic Bash

On the last day of Team '24, we tied up loose ends and celebrated the final day with an epic Bash party.

What a perfect way to kick off the end of Team '24 with a keynote from Ted Lasso superstars Jason Sudeikis (Ted Lasso) and Brendan Hunt (Coach Beard): Impossible Alone: A conversation with the co-creators of Ted Lasso. Who could be more fitting than coach Ted Lasso himself to deliver a talk on the importance of teamwork? Jason Sudeikis, discussing the Ted Lasso way of resilience, kindness, and curiosity over judgment, shared insights on fostering a positive team culture. Reflecting on his character's wisdom, Coach Beard humorously remarked, "I've been to Vegas many times. One night is good, two nights is perfect, three is too many".

All visitors, including customers, partners, and the Atlassian team, gathered on Thursday night at the Bash party in Wynn XS, and we had an unforgettable experience. The pulsating beats of Afrojack had us dancing joyously beneath the venue's dazzling lights, matching the party's theme of neon lights. Adding to the excitement, Mike and Scott made a stylish entrance, donning vibrant neon outfits as they joined the DJ booth.
