On their way to making their Cloud offering more and more attractive for organizations of all shapes, sizes, and compliance requirements, Atlassian is transforming what Cloud means for enterprise teams.

Welcoming Every Team to the Cloud

At Team '25, Atlassian sent a clear message: Cloud is for everyone—whether you're a fast-scaling startup, a global enterprise, or a public sector organization with complex regulatory needs.

To support this vision, Atlassian announced two new hosting options that will sit alongside their current Commercial Cloud and Data Center offerings, as well as other security and performance improvements. Let's take a look at the announcements.

1. Two New Cloud Hosting Options

Atlassian Government Cloud

Now in early access for U.S. federal customers, Atlassian Government Cloud is FedRAMP Moderate compliant and designed specifically for the needs of government agencies. It offers the same powerful tools teams love, with the added security and compliance layers that public sector institutions require.

Atlassian Isolated Cloud

Slated for release in 2026, the upcoming Atlassian Isolated Cloud will cater to high-security and highly regulated enterprises needing a more restricted, isolated environment—think financial services, defense, and critical infrastructure - not just in the United States. This is Atlassian’s boldest move yet toward making Cloud work for even the most complex IT landscapes.

2. Data Residency Expands Across Core Tools

For customers with strict data localization requirements, Atlassian is bringing Data Residency to six more apps in the near future:

This enhancement brings peace of mind to compliance-conscious organizations, extending the control and visibility of where data lives.

3. Stronger Compliance Standards

Atlassian is continuously strengthening its Cloud compliance framework. Newly announced certifications include:

  • ISO/IEC 27001

  • SOC 2

  • FedRAMP Moderate

These globally recognized standards position Atlassian as a trustworthy provider for industries with stringent security and compliance demands.

4. Cloud at Enterprise Scale

Size limitations? Not anymore.

  • Confluence now supports up to 150,000 users in a single instance.

  • Jira will soon support up to 100,000 users per site.

And with major performance improvements rolling out across the platform, these larger instances won’t come with longer wait times or lagging queries — in fact, loading times decreased by over 55% over the last year. Speed and scale now go hand in hand.

5. The Intelligent Backbone: Teamwork Graph

With the expansion of Atlassian’s Cloud offerings, the Teamwork Graph has become a central piece of the platform. It operates behind the scenes as a dynamic data layer, bringing context and intelligence to every part of the user experience. Acting as the connective tissue across teams and tools, it powers smarter, more seamless collaboration.

What sets the Teamwork Graph apart is its ability to map not just work objects, but the relationships between them—how tasks, goals, messages, and meetings link across Atlassian products and over 50 third-party tools. It evolves continuously as teams work: every Loom video shared, every Slack thread linked, or every Figma file added to a Jira ticket enriches the graph. At last count, it included over 10 billion objects and 40 billion connections, with its density—and value—growing rapidly.

This foundation enables features like personalized search, tailored recommendations, and context-aware automation. It also supports the newly announced Platform Apps, which will be pre-installed in every Atlassian Cloud site, ensuring that intelligent, connected experiences are available from day one.
